2011 MTV Video Müzik Ödülleri'nin adayları belli oldu. Amerikalı pop şarkıcısı Katy Perry 9 dalda, sıradışı giyimi ve klipleriyle tanınan Lady Gaga ise sadece 3 dalda aday gösterildi.
Bu yıl dünyanın en çok satan, şarkıcının ikinci albümü olan "21"in sahibi İngiliz şarkıcı Adele, "Rolling in the Deep" single ile 7 dalda aday oldu. Rapçi Kanye West, hem Katy Perry ile çalıştığı "E.T" hem de kendi videoları "All of the Lights" ve "Power" ile 7 dalda aday.
"Grenade"in şarkıcısı Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Eminem ve rock grubu Thirty Seconds ile birlikte 4 dalda aday gösterilenler arasında yer alırken, kadın rapçi Nicki Minaj 3 dalda aday gösterildi.
Ödül sahipleri, Los Angeles'ta 28 Ağustos'ta düzenlenecek gösteride halkın oylarıyla belli olacak.
